This past month, I joined a collective of the Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty leadership team and brokers at Inman Connect 2017, an event that brings thousands of top-producing real estate agents and brokers together with industry leaders and featured speakers. Held at the Hilton San Francisco Square, three members of Team RSIR were asked to speak on varying topics at the event, and we all enjoyed a week of learning and networking, bringing home lots of cutting edge tools and approaches to implement into our businesses.

RSIR’s featured speakers were broker Brian Hopper, who covered optimization tools that have helped streamline the Hopper Group, Vice President of Marketing Andrea Savage, who discussed optimizing and experimenting with advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and Vice President of Brand Development Jennifer Johnsen Cameron, who participated in a roundtable with other industry leaders and discussed attracting top talent.

From augmented reality and artificial intelligence experimentation to the expectation of clients that are used to the quick results that services such as Amazon provides, technology emerged as a definite theme throughout the conference. In addition to the tech effect, breakout sessions also covered the latest trends in branding, building partnerships, creating systems, marketing and more. Though many speakers acknowledged that technology is changing the industry, it also became clear that it will never truly eliminate the importance of a quality broker who provides exceptional service, market and neighborhood expertise, and works as a true advocate for their clients.

“Our industry is constantly evolving and now faster than ever with new technologies developing every day. You can either stay complacent and become obsolete or quickly adapt to changes while looking ahead. Inman puts brokers like myself at the forefront of it all and challenges us to be smarter, faster and stronger to better serve our clients. It was great to hear inspiring stories, be exposed to innovative tools and connect with the disruptors of our industry.” - Tammie Chi
